Halloween is over and you may still be in a sugar coma, and we have a myriad of holiday parties to go. Falling off the wagon happens to every one. My biggest wagon is exercise, always has been. But first, check this 10 year old letter out. We were purging files and came across this.
Sorry for the technical difficulties. The picture only uploads sideways. Weird.
The good news was that she was more than 50% better, and as a fibromyalgia patient, she basically has chronic pain. Cereal and toast promote pain through the high levels of omega 6 fatty acids.
So what do you do when you run to the store at midnight for an ice cream emergency?
#1 Enjoy it, feeling guilty will be more destructive to you.
#2 Get back on the horse. Don't get caught in the destructive cycle of thinking that there is no point in trying to improve. Just start fresh in the morning. One day of bad eating is fine. If you turn it into 7 days, then you are going to have issues.
Cereal and toast are pretty addicting. Cereal especially. If there was one food, I could magically erase from store shelves, it'd be cereal. These simple carbohydrates are often so addicting because they supply a quick hit of sugar energy.
1. If this is you, most likely your digestive system and ability to breakdown, and process nutrition is compromised so your body, and primarily your brain (its a sugar hog), need energy. The older you get the more likely this will happen.
or
2. Your adrenal glands are exhausted from lack of sleep, working overtime, taking kids to activities, and doing 100 other things. Your adrenals are your main energy powerhouse. If they are tired or overused they might be kicking your cravings into high gear.
or
3. You are simply lacking minerals. They are corner stones to activity in your body. Low nutrition foods will deprive your body and your body starts rebelling by craving more food.
What to do?
1. If number one sounds like you, talk to me, this is fairly easy to help with digestive enzymes.
2. If your tired, there are multiple test options to investigate how bad your adrenal hormone activity is.
This is serious stuff. This is a hint of future articles, but the adrenal glands are major indicators of
heart attack risk. First, stop drinking or eating any refined sugar.
3. If you don't eat fresh fruit, veggies and meat daily, you can very easily be low on minerals. My favorite test is a hair analysis. Easy, cut some hair, mail it in. Hair is an extremely effective way to peek inside cellular metabolism and is the BEST way to evaluate toxic metal exposure. For those of you interested in prevention, you will want to do this test. I for one, have arsenic and high levels of aluminum. So guess what I'm focusing on in my health journey?
4. Start your good habits right now. If your eating has been off track, grab a carrot from the fridge. If your exercise is gone, do some push-ups. If you haven't been adjusted in a month, schedule a visit. If you haven't taken free time for your self, grab a book and sit in the sun. So-So habits...So-So life
