This is my uncle Fran Zirbel, he died two years ago from cancer. In the quest to help keep him alive, I learned an extraordinary amount about how to help very sick people.
You see, he did some things that most cancer patients don't do. He also lived longer than any other patient at University of Minnesota that had his particular type of cancer.
It was so interesting to see how lifestyle changes affected his life.
On this Memorial Day, I am deep in thought on his life's effects on me and what I've learned. He was the kind of guy that was a friend to everyone. He was the kind of guy that would help you no matter what.
He was the kind of guy that people Loved to be around. So much so, people hopped on airplanes to make sure they could make his funeral.
What most of you do not know is that the way I run the office has been very deeply affected by Fran Zirbel.
We help everyone. No matter what.
If we have to, we dip into the Fran Zirbel Memorial scholarship fund.
One of the single greatest challenges I have is to get people to make changes to their health and their life before there is a major crisis.
Once there is a major crisis, people can make extraordinary changes overnight, but sometimes it's too late.
The go, go, go of life often forces health choices to the side burner.

In honor of our veterans, this week all of our care is at no charge for any veteran of the armed services. This is my inspiration from Fran Zirbel.
Also remember, our new Tuesday hours are starting this week and we will be open all day Tuesday.
